Taylor Family News

(mainly for friends and family members :)
February 2010

The Taylors continue to live, work, sleep, etc. Larry is still job hunting, although
he had a very productive meeting in Seattle on Monday (Jan 25) with one of the
lead administrators of the VA Puget Sound hospital about being the main
chaplain for American Lake VA. The job is still in the making, and may take some
time, but it is very promising and would nail the Taylor family to the Northwest.
Meanwhile, LT and Phyllis have painted virtually every main room in the house
and are preparing it for sale at some point.

Aaron is advancing his security-police career interest and being promoted to full
time at Sisters of Providence Medical Care Service in Portland. This means
guaranteed hours and benefits and a secure future.

Jerusha continues to work at OHSU and enjoy her beautiful-view condo in "the
Pearl" district of Portland. Phyllis and I are green with envy about her view and
simple lifestyle. What? No trees to trim...no roof to clean...!? It's time for mom
and dad to get a condo.

Ivy is serving at a new restaurant in Seattle ...awesome food and ambiance, if I do
say so myself. Her plans are to return to school soon (she has a BA in poly-sci)
and to save some bucks.

LT'S GOOD MOVIE REVIEW:

Go see
Avatar for the incredible visual experience (A-) The story line, script are
so predictable and sometimes stupid...(evil white businessmen and redneck
army guys are out to destroy an environmentally-connected indigenous people
for profit). BUT THE TECHNOLOGY AND 3-D IS AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL. The
Future is HERE.

Go see
Sherlock Holmes for great acting and intrigue. It also has some
predictability in the evil genius who wants to create a new world by destroying
other governments and weaker people and establish a new realm for a
"thousand years" (sound familiar?) but the character acting of Robert Downey Jr.
and Jude Law were surprising and fresh. I enjoyed the careful conceptual
development of Holmes' actions in the film and the script was fun. (A) This is
quite a statement coming from me, because I am a HUGE Sherlock Holmes fan of
the Jeremy Brett, Grenada Television series shown on PBS. So, I went into the
movie theatre this week skeptical, but came out delighted in what I experienced.
